Bike Sunday for June 20, 2010
Pitstop

If you bike in the hills, you’ve got to drink a lot to keep hydrated. Fail to do so and you’ll bonk, or worse, you’ll suffer a heat injury. You know you’re drinking enough when you continue to sweat, and when you’ve got to make pitstops every hour or so. If you’re lucky, there are public restrooms with secure areas to lock up your bike when you need to answer nature’s call. Or you ride in areas with enough natural cover so that you can walk off the roadside and into obscurity. This is one of my favorite stops, off a side road and in a woodland open to the public. It has a nice view, too.

We love our bikes and everything that goes with them, right? And we never tire of looking at them. At least I don’t, and if I’m to judge from what others tell me, I’m not alone. So each Sunday I’ll publish a bike-related picture. Most of the time the picture will be a photo, but I’ll also include drawings, paintings, sculptures, and any other representation of bikes, cycling, or bike stuff. If you have something you’d like to contribute to the gallery, just email your picture(s) to me.
