The Flowers That Bloom in the Spring, Tra la…
Wildflowers are OK, I suppose. But let’s face it: they’re a long way short of perfect. They don’t know their place, for one thing. They grow where and when they want to grow, not where and when you want them to. That’s pretty arrogant, if you know what I mean. Who do those plants think they are, after all?
Store-bought is better. At least the flowers you grow from those packets of seeds you find in the supermarket only grow where you put them. Still, flower seeds aren’t exactly cheap, and then you gotta spend time digging and watering and stuff. It’s a royal pain, actually. And then, after all that, the darn things up and die on you. Plus you’ve got all those bees buzzing around everywhere. Somebody’s going to get stung, right? So there’s that to think about, too.
Bottom line? You don’t need the aggro. Luckily, there’s a better way. These guys look great, but they never get out of hand. There’s no doubt who’s in charge here. Understand what I’m saying? And these little beauties last just about forever. You only have to touch up the paint every couple of years. No bees ever come buzzing around them, either. It’s a win-win scenario.
Gotta do something about those dandelions on the lawn, though. Anybody seen that drum of Roundup?
