Vintage Raleigh Three-Speed Still Going After 60 Years…
And So is its Engine!
In an age when just about everything from automobiles to houses is replaced every few years, one man is quite happy to keep riding his Raleigh three-speed bike each day, just as he has done for most of 60 years. An article in The Daily Mail tells of 72-year-old Owen Hook’s love for a bicycle he bought with monthly installments beginning when he was 16 years old. Here’s a screenshot:

Mr. Owen has ridden his Raleigh each workday except for the time when he was stationed in Germany as an engineer with the Royal Air Force. He has maintained the bicycle well, and in turn, the bicycle has been good to him!
