Surly Long Haul Truckers STOLEN
Robbery at Chuck Davis’ Bike Shop

Stolen LHTs

Sometime in the dark hours of late Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning this week—January 26th or 27th—thieves broke into Chuck Davis’ bike shop, Oklahoma Velo Sales, in Tulsa. They carried off two Surly Long Haul Truckers along with some pedals, lights, and other smaller items. Here are the details about the bikes:

52cm Blue 2010 Surly LHT in box from QPB

50cm Truckaccino 2010 Surly LHT in box from QPB

Time is important here! The longer the bikes are missing, the less likely it is they’ll be recovered! So spread the word as widely as you can. If you’re on Facebook or Twitter, tell your friends. If you have a blog or website, tell your readers. Let’s get these bikes back to Chuck.

Chuck thinks it’s possible the bikes will stay in the Tulsa area, but who knows? They can be anywhere. Keep your eyes peeled for suspect LHTs on the market, whether in local classifieds (wherever local is for you), on Craigslist, and in any other venue, even at garage sales and flea markets. If you think you’ve got a tip, let Chuck know, or send me a note and I’ll get the information to him pronto.

If you’re a regular reader of Outside Up North or the Surly Cross Check and Long Haul Trucker Group, then you know Chuck, and you know that you won’t find many guys as generous with his time and seasoned advice. Let’s give him some help here by keeping our eyes open for the bikes stolen from his shop, and let’s also spread the word.
