Hummingbirds are extraordinary. They seem to move at warp speed, but come to an instant stop for a rest, as this ruby-throated hummer has done. She’s eyeing a crabapple on another branch. Hummingbirds are attracted to red, but the small fruits had nothing to offer this bird. Away she flew, giving me only a few seconds to shoot her picture before disappearing in search of nectar.
