Photo Finish for April 10, 2009

Two species of nuthatches live here in the northern foothills of the Adirondacks, and this is one of them—a red-breasted nuthatch. He was curious about what I was doing at my desk as he stopped in his foraging in the pine outside my office. I was lucky to have my DSLR close at hand to snap a few quick pictures through the window. I got this second photo as he checked out the bird-feeding table:
